Cellulose nanocrystals: uses in research

Also: CNC, nanocellulose, cellulose nanowhiskers

Cellulose nanocrystals are tiny rod-shaped crystals extracted from plant or bacterial cellulose. They are stiff, light and renewable, and can self-assemble into colourful films, reinforce plastics and form ultralight aerogels.
