Childhood lead and school performance
Needleman and colleagues found children with high lead levels in their teeth (dentine) scored lower on IQ, speech-processing and attention tests than children with low levels, and teacher-rated classroom problems rose with dentine lead.
As reported in: Needleman, Gunnoe, Leviton et al. (1979). Deficits in Psychologic and Classroom Performance of Children with Elevated Dentine Lead Levels. New England Journal of Medicine. doi:10.1056/nejm197903293001301
